Created and launched as of September 2018, Authentic Human Stories focuses on delivering personal and genuine content focusing on mental health topics such as : Depression , Anxiety, PTSD, cPTSD, BPD and techniques of self care; reducing stigma around disabilities especially those that are invisible like Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS), Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Chrone's, ME, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and more ; plus resources for LGBTQ+ folks including transgender and nonbinary specific references.
We want to bring you a place where you can be assured that the information found is up to date and based on scientific data found through a multitude of sources, as well as personal experiences for you to relate to. We also want to bring positivity to hard conversations, opening discussions in a way that reduces stigma and gives you tools to better your situation.
If you'd like to be part of our family, you can contact us here or read more about it on Mending Words.
Chloe is educated with a background in medical Respiratory Therapy, and Auggie focuses on Human Rights in social challenges of human experiences.
Two and a half years ago, they met during a very distressed time in Auggie's life. In the span of a few years, they would move homes and provinces, tackle nasty landlords, not to mention having to deal with past relationships/dynamics and the traumas that coincided.
During their journeys through all of their unexpected life situations, they have witnessed the damaging, and harmful effects that individuals, institutions, and groups have on folks of marginalized communities.
Both Chloe and Auggie experiences tremendous struggles going through day to day activities, such as cleaning, cooking, and going to school/working. They, along with special quests, educators, and professionals will talk about ways to decolonize, unpack, manage and coping with the realities of living with marginalized identities.
Together, they are building a safe, resourced, and open community platform for individuals, professionals, and groups to share knowledges and experiences through professional/educational, and personal stories.
As a result, they hope that this will bring communities together in order to end stigmas against mental health, queer/LGBT-ness, and (In)visible (Dis)abilities.
Meet Fierce Fibro Femme
Fighting fibromyalgia, PTSD, CFS, Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome, IBS, PCOS and a slew of other auto-immune symptoms. Educated in Respiratory Therapy (2014-2015), Psychology (2011-2013) and Public Relations (2017). Lover of gems, natural living and all things self care.
My content tends to revolve around positive changes you can bring to your life to become more independent. Having gone through inaccessibility to services, delays in medical care and intersections that make healthcare difficult to receive - I try to focus on things you can do now and today !
I mostly am the person who does the back work on social media as I am analytic and love to learn in detail , and Auggie tends to be the caring one who deals with communication. You can say we're a pretty great team!
I am looking forward to connecting with others who suffer from disabilities or invisible illnesses, and create resources for our community. You can check out more of my stuff o the Fierce Fibro Femme page or check out my post on #WorldSuicideDay !
Include a short bio with an interesting fact about the person.
